There’s nothing quite like a little friendly competition at Poppy Hills—and this year’s Two-Person 6/6/6 tournament delivered on every front. From strategic teamwork to clutch putts and dialed-in tee shots, the field brought both skill and energy to the course for a memorable day of golf.

A Format That Tests Every Part of Your Game

The 6/6/6 format is always a fan favorite, challenging teams to adapt across three different playing styles over 18 holes. It rewards not just talent, but communication, chemistry, and smart course management—and this year’s competitors rose to the occasion.

Leading the Pack

A huge congratulations to Gene Aso and Alex Perl, who navigated the format flawlessly. Their impressive round of 67 secured them the Overall Gross title, showcasing consistency and control from start to finish. For reference, par at Poppy Hills is 71 👀

Women’s Net Comes Down to the Wire

The Women’s Net division brought some of the most exciting competition of the day.

  • Christine Nenoff and Elizabeth Taylor finished strong with an even-par performance to claim 1st place.
  • Just behind them, Karen Medalen and Yuki Puar battled hard to take 2nd place at 2-over.

A tight race and a fantastic display of competitive spirit all around.

Flight Winners

Across both flights, teams delivered standout performances:

Flight A
🥇 1st Place: Busha / Carlson
🥈 2nd Place: Valentine / Eason

Flight B
🥇 1st Place: Hafezi / Sani
🥈 2nd Place: Swift / Vicencio

Dialed-In on the Par 3s

The Closest to the Pin contests added an extra layer of excitement—and some truly impressive shots:

  • Hole 2: Mark Vicencio stuck it to an incredible 2 feet 8 inches
  • Hole 17: Elizabeth Taylor delivered a beauty to 13 feet 6 inches

Shots like these are what keep everyone buzzing long after the round ends.

Thank You & What’s Next

A big thank you to everyone who participated and made the event such a success. The camaraderie, competition, and sportsmanship on display are what make the Poppy Hills community so special.

We’re already looking ahead to the next big event—Member-Guest in May—and we can’t wait to see you back out on the course.
